Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Supervisor Physical Plant. This is a second shift schedule and work will be during evening and night hours.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a managerial position with responsibilities for assigned Campus Physical Plant.  The position requires a knowledge of maintenance, custodial and horticulture practices as well as familiarity with general building construction codes and practices. The position's responsibilities include planning, scheduling, coordinating and communication activities for the staff.  The position functions in a sophisticated collective bargaining environment.  Emphasis is placed on financial management and labor relations skills. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to effectively perform the essential job duties and responsibilities.
  2. Must successfully pass criminal background check prior to hire.
  3. Requires a valid driver’s license.
  4. Requires knowledge of computer programs and possess computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), good judgement, patience, and decisiveness.
  5. Experience as a machine operator, maintenance, or building custodian responsible for structural and mechanical system maintenance and repair as well as landscaping and lawn care, helpful.
  6. Physical plant supervisory experience is preferred.

 

SALARYSalary Grade 4 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging from $63,750 to $79,700 per year.
