The Site Technician will be responsible for providing daily application support to internal customers for the company’s enterprise software applications. This role includes providing support to all areas of the business. Emphasizing on customer service this position primarily focuses on desktop, network and application support while administering user accounts and system access.

Essential Functions

  • Promptly respond to and document all IT related incidents and assigned tasks.
  • Acts as 1st escalation point for incident resolution, engaging additional teams as required.
  • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and recommends improvements for IT hardware & software
  • Adheres to IT policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Diagnose and perform troubleshooting in a production environment.
  • Create functional and technical documentation for users and technicians.
  • Perform logical user access controls throughout the enterprise.
  • Builds relationships with users to understand technical environment (hardware, software, etc.).
  • Maintains effective departmental and organizational communications.
  • Prioritize work based on severity, impact, and urgency.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves complex technical problems.
  • Provide first line support for local site as well as regional and global support responsibilities as part of a global support organization. 
  • Reviews, analyzes, and troubleshoots the organization’s enterprise software applications and databases.
  • Analyze and develop logical resolutions for business issues from a technical and business perspective.
  • Document root cause and resolutions to issues.
  • Provide support for our ERP system “Infor Visual Manufacturing”
  • Provide maintenance and coding enhancements for our Quality, Quoting, EDI, and Shop Floor systems written in Visual Basic and .Net.
  • Assist in the support of planning and business intelligence system.

Additional Responsibiliti

  • Provision of ‘out of hours’ support when required
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Be available to travel when required
  • Support other PCC Metals facilities as required
  •  Must understand and follow requirements of SXP QMS and EHS system.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 3 years in the Information Technology field.
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience will be considered in lieu of BS degree.

  • Capable of working with non-technical people.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
