Description

To facilitate the acquisition of vocational/technical knowledge in the course being taught, as well as enhancing intellectual, emotional, social and psychological growth and maturation.

 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Normal work day for full time staff will be 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  2. Preparation time will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  3. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated as negotiated in school board policies.
  4. Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the Center.
  5. Prepares for assigned classes, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the administration.
  6. Maintains acceptable standards of student classroom behavior.
  7. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  8. Evaluates students’ progress on a regular basis.
  9. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and Center policy.
  10. Assists in upholding and enforcing Center rules and Board of Control Policy.
  11. Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
  12. Assists in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  13. Participates in professional growth through an ongoing program of workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning as provided for in the negotiated board contract.
  14. Participates in any other duties as assigned by the Director.
  15. Will also be the opportunity to serve as Advisory to school's HOSA organization,  which has been very successful. 

 

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate or Bachelor Degree Registered Nurses may be considered for this position. Additional training may be required upon hire. 
  2. Candidate must  be eligible for a provisional or temporary provisional teaching certificate, having completed at least 2000 work hours in the Nursing field.
  3. Candidate must have an active Illinois Nursing License. 

 

Salary/Benefits

 

Salary to be be detemined based on Collective Bargaining Agreement. Health and elective benefits are offered. Paid sick and personal leave. TRS retirement. This is a 180 day position. Summers and school holidays are scheduled off.
