Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Edwardsville Public Library
Rate of pay - $20.00 per hour
Mostly days, occasional evenings and weekends
Accountability: Library Director
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the accuracy of the financial records and transactions of the Library
- Preparing payroll bi-weekly
- Monthly reconciliation of credit card revenue and credit card statements including preparation of journal entries
- Responsible for the recordkeeping and the depositing of the library’s cash
- Preparing monthly financial information for Board of Directors
- Maintain clarity and detail of financial reporting to assist in IPLAR reporting, budgeting and general decision making
- Provides assistance with Excel to staff and patrons as needed
- Willingness and ability to learn Munis (financial software) and Polaris (library database), and to act as a back-up to the circulation staff as needed
- Other duties as apparent or assigned
Skill and Education requirements
3-5 years of accounting experience, demonstrated computer competency including Excel proficiency and clerical accuracy required. Preference will be given to applicants with a college degree or some college coursework.

Hours: Part time (20-25 hours per week), to include mainly daytime weekday hours, however evenings and weekends may occasionally be necessary
