Description
The National Security Customer Group of SAIC is seeking a Network Infrastructure Specialist to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois.  The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command’s infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6). 
 
The successful candidate will provide O&M support for the USTRANSCOM network infrastructure (either physical or virtual). The candidate will operate, monitor, manage, maintain, install, and troubleshoot USTRANSCOM network infrastructure devices and services. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Installing and maintaining the network transport medium (i.e., fiber, wireless, copper) to include user access drops at the desk location
  • Operating, maintaining, and managing both secure and non-secure wireless communication infrastructure equipment, network connectivity and service
  • Coordinating and performing cryptographic circuit maintenance
  • Coordinating and performing planned upgrades, minimizing disruption of day-to-day operations
  • Collecting and reporting Network Availability Metrics on a recurring and adhoc basis
  • Providing support for Domain Name Server (DNS) and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) capability
  • Configuring and managing Internet Protocol (IP) address space and Virtual LANs (VLAN), issue IP addresses for new equipment and workstations, and troubleshoot IP address issues with outside agencies
  • Reviewing and providing technical solution recommendations, and selection of technological purchases, for network centric service requests
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate technical documentation for enterprise network, such as architecture diagrams (physical and logical), equipment room layouts with rack elevation diagrams, inside and outside plant specifications, and hardware configuration utilizing government provided tools 
  • Adhering to processes established for the team to ensure success in meeting service level agreements
  • Responding to incidents, and provide after action support
This position is for Monday through Friday, normal business hours. However, employee may be required to provide after-hours and weekend support during planned or emergency events.? 
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience with a Bachelors; Masters and three (3) years or more experience.
  • IAT Level II Certification (Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
  • Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility for Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.) 
  • Experience installing and maintaining networks in a DoD environment which adhere to security requirements.  
  • Technical expertise in common routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), IPv6, VPN, etc. across a global WAN backbones and distributed datacenter platforms.   
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation. 
  • Experience with MS Office to?include Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel 
  • Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment 
  • Self- starter and problem solver 
  • Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibility 
 
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS  
  • ITIL Foundations (v3 or higher) certification 
 
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
