Position Description:
We’re hiring for a COMSEC Responsible Officer / Network Engineer IV to work in Albuquerque, NM in support of the US Air Force Space Mission. This individual will be responsible for the deployment, monitoring, and support of network infrastructure (IP based telephones, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs) and virtual server environments (servers, storage area networks, and VMware) and should be able to troubleshoot, install, implement and administer network systems. As CRO, this individual will be responsible for managing COMSEC material and automated equipment from receipt through usage and eventual consumption/destruction. Management will include maintaining security throughout receipt, transfer, inventory, accounting, and destruction. This individual will work on a team comprised of fellow network engineers, systems administrators, and systems engineers who utilize lifecycle management frameworks to complete new IT projects and maintain existing infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation, configuration, and removal of switches, routers, and firewalls in operational and test lab environments
- Apply knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools (Solar Winds, WireShark, etc.) to analyze network activity and problems
- Work with other system and network administrators in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network nodes, servers, routers, and firewalls and will be responsible for identifying and correcting hardware and software issues involved with encryptors
- Use and incorporate broad technical knowledge of the diverse business areas within the enterprise in the assessment of network engineering technologies, computing systems hardware and software protocols
- Work with alternate COMSEC custodians and assist those alternates in their daily operations
- Provide the customer technical guidance and direction in the design and implementation of network solutions using advanced understanding of network theory and maintaining specific enterprise network architecture
- Complete semi-annual inventories of all equipment handled by hand receipt holders and support periodic rekey and installation of new devices
- Update existing local Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), develop/implement new SOPs as needed and brief/de-brief users in and out of the COMSEC program
- A Bachelor’s degree in science and technology related discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, and Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university with 9 + years of experience. Four years of experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
- Must possess DoD 8570 level II certification
- Must be familiar with NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16, Control of Communications Security (COMSEC) Manual.
- Must have recent experience (within the last five years) with at least 3 of the following:
- Tracking all COMSEC inventory using the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI)
- System administrator for the KMI Management Client (MGC)
- Providing COMSEC customer support via walk-in, email, telephone, REMEDY, or Automated Messaging Handling System (AMHS)
- Receiving, generating, and distributing electronic keying materials
- Stocking, storing, and issuing keying materials to COMSEC subaccounts and other COMSEC accounts
- Maintaining records and files, reporting security incidents, and providing periodic status reports regarding COMSEC material
- Knowledge of the legacy Electronic Key Management System/ Local Management Device/Key
- Minimum 6 years’ recent experience focused on networking
- Knowledge of communication protocols specifically routing protocols like BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IP
- Sound knowledge of network security and control models
- Experience with Network Security Technologies (e.g. Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, Vulnerability Assessment)
Desired Experience:
- Understanding of disciplined process; information and data management, configuration control
- Seasoned communicator with demonstrated record of success in leadership, followership, and working with contract representatives and government sponsors.
- Ability to provide high-level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data
