Purpose
Professional Therapy Services is looking for a Physical Therapy Aide who will be responsible for carrying out therapy tasks and office/clerical work at various Outpatient Therapy Clinics. Physical Therapy Aide tasks are under supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Previous experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. Part-time and full-time applicants will be considered.

Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be CPR certified or eligible for CPR certification.

Therapy Aide Duties (abbreviated job description)
- Safely transports patients and supplies as directed by Therapy Supervisor.
- Uses proper techniques when assisting clients and handling equipment.
- Handles equipment properly and carefully.
- Assists therapists in patient care tasks.
- Assists therapists as directed in treatments.
- Gathers equipment for the therapists.
- Assists therapists in the aquatic area as directed.
- Assumes personal responsibility for patient, environment and person safety.
- Maintains safe therapeutic environment.
- Cleans work area and equipment as directed.
- Alert and responsive to patients’ needs.
- Ensures equipment in maintained in good working order.
- Performs office duties as directed.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Capable of standing and/or walking during the majority of shift. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and reaching activities.
- Able to demonstrate proper body mechanics and lifting techniques with all patient transfers.
- Remain calm and effective in emergency/stressful situations.
