Applied Pavement Technology, Inc. (APTech) is seeking a full-time Training Coordinator to join our Training Team. Ideally, this position will work out of APTech’s corporate office in Champaign, Illinois with potential for a hybrid schedule after an initial six-month evaluation period. Fully remote opportunity for the right candidate.

The ideal applicant demonstrates a strong attention to detail with experience coordinating and supporting online and in-person training events. This includes technical guidance and problem-solving with instructors and participants during virtual training and managing additional course logistics. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple projects and deadlines. In addition, the Training Coordinator should have a strong work ethicand the ability to work both independently and as part of a group. 

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities include the preparation of virtual classroom materials, scheduling, registration tracking, troubleshooting in real time for virtual training events, as well as all post-instructional tasks. An individual in this position will be expected to: 

  • Support training registration; schedule training sessions, activate registration via the project website (WordPress or Alchemer).
  • Monitor and conduct updates to project websites (WordPress).
  • Maintain the Training Team’s Outlook Calendars for in-person and virtual training.
  • Partner with instructors to co-facilitate virtual training, support instructors by uploading documents, preparing virtual activities, troubleshooting in real time, and oversee participant communication. Experience with Adobe Connect, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or the ability to learn such programs quickly and efficiently are needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues for instructors and participants during virtual training through online chat, telephone, or email.
  • Arrange virtual classrooms in Adobe Connect; preparing polls, participant chat, and share pods.
  • Conduct follow up activities post-training which include, but are not limited to, the collection and summarization of evaluation forms, processing of course certificates, and any additional requirements.
  • Aid with the development of training promotional materials, including newsletters, email promotions, save-the-dates, and content for project websites.   

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher in an applicable field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to work the hours necessary to meet internal and external needs and deadlines. (training session may take place in different U.S. based time zones)
  • Proven advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MailChimp, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experienced at setting up and co-facilitating sessions within Adobe Connect, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. 

Preferences:

  • Four (4) year degree in Event Management or Instructional Design Technology.
  • Three (3) years of event planning experience.
  • Experience working with Federal, State, and local agencies may be helpful.
