Description This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.As a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-2130-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist, and Alternate Lead Contracting Officer Representative (COR) in the Defense Personal Property Management Office (DPMO).
  • Conducts special studies and program reviews concerning Prime Contractor performance and the various transportation systems used by DoD for movement and storage of personal property to include during adverse situations.
  • Provides oversight and support to worldwide DP3 personal property operations to resolve unusual occurrences and ensure onward movement of property affected by operation failures, bankruptcies, diversions, strikes or other unusual occurrences. Identifies and evaluates the impact of internal and external changes on the operating performance and viability.
  • Provides support on operational and procedural issues for DOD customers regarding their personal property shipments, including support to Inspector General complaints, Congressional Inquiries, direct complaints, claims, or issues elevated to the Defense Personal Property Management Office (DPMO) level.
You may qualify at the GS-GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of traffic management, and Alternate Lead COR responsibilities, policies, principles, and practices sufficient to conduct special studies and program reviews concerning contractor performance affecting various transportation systems used by DoD worldwide on movement and storage of personal property.
  • In-depth knowledge of specialized functions such as transportation procurement, laws, rules, and regulations to assist in conducting studies involving research and development of new systems or methods of improving existing systems for movement and storage of personal property during adverse situations where operational barriers exist.
  • Thorough knowledge of DoD, and DoD components, policies, and procedures to provide staff advice and assistance to DoD components overseas in resolving difficult and complex shipments of personal property
