Our career coaches helps our students establish realistic goals, discover solutions to challenges they are faced against, develop action plans, build self-confidence, and get our students pumped up and motivated.

They help our students take charge of their career paths by changing it from what it is today to something they've always dreamed of—the ultimate goal.

  • Responsibilities of the Career Coaching Specialist (CCS) include, but are not limited to, the followingReview student cover letters, resumes, and other materials to ensure that they are optimized and effective and provide training in resume development to the students.
  • Assist both students and graduates with the full life-cycle of their job search.
  • Develop and lead training on the proper use of social media and how to use social media as part of their job search.
  • Provide assistance with mock interviews and to prepare students for the interview process.
  • Provide alumni and students with professional, real-time feedback regarding interviewing strengths and weaknesses alongside insights to improve their interviewing techniques.
  • Contribute to the career preparation curriculum with the Education team.
  • Develop and lead workshops and/or webinars on effective job search strategies.
  • Proactively assist and counsel students on obstacles they run into with their job search.
  • Participate in a continuous improvement workshop with Claim Academy staff on how to improve the job search process for our students and graduates.
  • Work with the Company Engagement Manager in placing our graduates at our corporate partners as well as identifying hiring patterns and traits that the employers look for to better prepare our graduates for their job search with our corporate partners.
  • Ensures that 95% of new graduates are placed in a job in the scope of their education at Claim Academy within 180 days of graduation.
  • Ensures that 50% of all current Claim Academy graduates are placed in a job in the scope of their education at Claim Academy within 180 days of placement. This includes all Claim Academy alumni.
  • Ensures that the Claim Academy Company Engagement staff are meeting all goals for identifying and engaging companies that will hire Claim Academy graduates.
  • Ensure that instructors have resumes for all students before the completion of week six of instruction.
  • Ensure that all students have their resumes and LinkedIn profiles ready for all students before the completion of week six of instruction.
  • Ensure that current students are added to our in-house job boards, applying for jobs, before the completion of week 7th of instruction.
  • Ensure new jobs and career fairs are posted for students and alumni.
  • Facilitate teaching of soft skills for students including:
    • Presentation Skills
    • Resume Writing
    • Salary Negotiation
    • Technical interviewing
    • Personal Branding
    • Capstone Project completion
    • LinkedIn Profiles, Job Boards and social media
  • Working with Sales team - ensure that students are funded appropriately, properly on-boarded, fully engaged and on track to graduate and be placed through the student’s lifecycle.
  • Ensure all new student orientation events are conducted, and go smoothly.
  • Ensures all appropriate documentation is collected and provided both in electronic forms and hardcopies in the office - using hubspot.
  • Manage any student escalation and intervention within our guidelines.
  • Become the face and the coach of students to speak with.
  • Ensure Alumni network runs
