Non-Destructive Testing Specialist (RT focus) - 3rd Shift

Description

We have an exciting opportunity in our Quality Department for a Level II or Level III Radiographer/NDT Inspector (RTL2). You'll be responsible for:

• Performing radiographic operations, like selecting techniques, positioning materials, and developing film to spot defects in castings and repair welds.
• Handling all darkroom procedures to develop film.
• Interpreting film results to decide if parts pass or fail inspection, based on defect seriousness, codes, standards, and customer specs. You'll also prepare necessary documentation.
• Moving parts by hand and using hoists and other lifting equipment for inspection.
• Reviewing new customer orders to help determine the right processing through X-Ray operations.
• Assisting in keeping the radiographic inspection area, inspection room, and equipment in great shape.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections and process logs as required.
• Keeping Nadcap accreditation in the method.
• Obtaining certification(s) and performing or assisting in other NDT disciplines as needed.

Requirements

To be successful, you should have these great attributes, skills, or experiences:

• Education: High School diploma or GED, plus post High School education in NDT or a technical field preferred.
• Training: Qualified in W.I. Radiation Operating, Emergency, & Security Procedures.
• Certification: RT Level II, to SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410 & Navsea Tech Pub. 010/271.
• Instruction: Able to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written skills, high attention to detail, and a team player.
• Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Aptitude: High technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Physical Ability: Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
