Granite City, IL Diesel Mechanic

LANTER DISTRIBUTING, LLC, a leading temperature-controlled warehousing and transportation organization, is seeking an Experienced Diesel & Reefer Mechanic. The ideal candidate must be able to repair and diagnose all systems on a diesel tractor.

Shift: Monday-Friday

Salary: $30+/ hour depending on experience.

Requirements:

• Perform general maintenance to include routine service and repairs on heavy duty semi-trucks and reefer experience a plus.
• Diagnose and repair all heavy-duty tractor equipment to include electrical, engine maintenance, brakes, and tires.
• Perform basic repairs, replacement of parts, and maintenance to include welding, oil changes, and electrical.
• Ability to use hand tools, air tools and specialty tools such as battery tester, multimeter, antifreeze tester, refrigerant reclaimer, and engine diagnostic equipment.
• Must have an advanced set of personal hand tools to include toolbox, impact, and sockets.
• Must have own set of tools available.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Two or more years’ experience in tractor systems repair
• Certification in diesel technology or equivalent experience.
• Ability to operate a semi-tractor with an active CDL preferred.
• Ability to lift to 75 lbs.
• Able to work outdoors in the environment.
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen and a Criminal Background Check.
